Dr. Ning Gao

Biography

Ning Gao is a Professor of Finance at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, where he serves as the Deputy Director of the Centre for Analysis of Investment Risk (CAIR). His research interests encompass corporate finance, sustainable finance, ESG risks, mergers and acquisitions, the information financial system, and corporate governance. His works frequently appear in leading internationally reputable journals. Gao is a member of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) review college and holds editorial roles in journals such as the British Accounting Review and the Journal of Sustainable Finance and Accounting. He has also been involved as an advisor at the Manchester China Institute and is the founder and organizer of the Annual Corporate Finance Conference in the UK. With an academic background that includes a Ph.D. from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a baccalaureate degree from Renmin University of China, his broad teaching portfolio includes courses in Advanced Corporate Finance, Sustainable Finance and Accounting, and Corporate Finance at various academic levels. Gao is actively involved in research that aligns with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, showcasing his commitment to addressing significant societal issues through academic inquiry.
