Biography

Dr. Ningyuan Chen is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Mississauga. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and prior to that, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Yale School of Management. Dr. Chen earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Columbia University in 2015. His research interests primarily focus on machine learning, data-driven decision-making, and business applications, including dynamic pricing, revenue management, online retailing, and experimental design. His studies have been published in reputable journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, Annals of Statistics, and the proceedings of NeurIPS. His research has received support from the UGC Hong Kong Discovery Grants Program in Canada and he has been recognized with several awards, including the Roger Martin Award for Excellence in Research and the IMI Research Award.
