Professor Dr. Nis Clausen

Biography

Nis Jul Clausen is a Professor of Law at the University of Southern Denmark, focusing on business law with a primary emphasis on national and international company law, securities regulation, and banking law. He obtained his Master of Law (cand.jur.) from the University of Aarhus and later pursued further studies obtaining an LL.M. from Duke University and a SJD from Aarhus. Clausen has extensive academic experience, having served as an associated professor and later a professor at the University of Southern Denmark since 1997. He is a permanent scholar at Duke University’s School of Law. His research has significantly contributed to the fields of securities regulation and banking law, as evidenced by numerous publications and his involvement in various research projects sponsored by external institutions. Clausen has also been active in administrative roles including positions as Head of the Department of Accounting, Finance and Business Law, and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at his university. His editorial work includes participation on the boards of several legal journals. His contributions to the academic community have been recognized through various awards, including the Teacher of the Year accolade. Clausen is also an engaged speaker and has shared his expertise in numerous talks and panels.
