Dr. Nishant Mishra

Biography

Nishant Kumar Mishra, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Neurology at Yale University and serves as the Stroke Director at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, West Haven VA Medical Center. His research interests include post-stroke epilepsy, outcomes of cardiovascular procedures, women's health, thrombolysis, and strategies to prevent complications associated with reperfusion therapy. Dr. Mishra is committed to delivering exemplary clinical care and establishing comprehensive, collaborative research programs aimed at improving stroke outcomes. Before joining Yale, he held various positions at major stroke centers and the FDA, where he contributed to significant changes in the field of stroke treatment. His clinical expertise is further supported by a robust educational background, including vascular neurology fellowships and doctoral research focused on therapeutics in ischemic stroke. Dr. Mishra actively participates in the International Post-Stroke Epilepsy Research Consortium and has numerous published works in the field, showcasing his contributions to advancing stroke research and care.
