Nitin Kalé is a Professor in the Engineering Practice Information Technology Program (ITP) at the Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California. He has been teaching at USC Viterbi since 1995, focusing on areas such as Enterprise Information Systems, databases, data analytics, and machine learning. Nitin's research interests include blockchain, database modeling, enterprise information systems, business intelligence, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence. He played a key role in developing the minor in Enterprise Information Systems in 2012 and launched the Minor in Applied Analytics in 2016, which has gained significant interest among undergraduate students. Additionally, he introduced the Minor in Blockchain in 2019 and the Minor in AI Applications in August 2022. Nitin completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in mechanical and aerospace engineering. He has received multiple awards for his outstanding service and dedication to education, including the 2020 John O’Brien Faculty Service Award and the 2016 SAP Majdi Najm Award for Outstanding Service.
