Dr. Nitish Badhwar

Biography

Nitish Badhwar, MD is a Clinical Professor of Medicine specializing in Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He directs the Cardiac Electrophysiology Training Program and has held prestigious faculty positions over his career, including 15 years at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Badhwar earned his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, India, and completed his internal medicine training at New York Hospital Queens. His clinical interests encompass complex catheter ablation procedures for ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, and supraventricular tachycardia. He has pioneered innovative techniques in electrophysiology, specifically the recent development of a percutaneous epicardial left atrial appendage ligation procedure. Dr. Badhwar's research contributions include investigations into the electrophysiologic characteristics of various atrial tachycardias, and he is involved in numerous clinical trials aiming to enhance treatment protocols for arrhythmia disorders.
