Dr. Niuosha Samani

Biography

Niuosha Samani is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. She focuses her research on financial reporting, corporate governance, and the usefulness of both financial and non-financial disclosures for decision-making in capital markets. Her PhD thesis centered on interaction quality in financial reporting and corporate governance. She is involved in various research projects, including those funded by the Jan Wallander and Tom Hedelius Research Foundation, which investigates the integration of financial and non-financial disclosures to aid decision-making for internal corporate stakeholders. Additionally, her research examines accounting and auditing choices made by private firms in Sweden. Niuosha teaches multiple courses in master's programs, including 'Theoretical Perspectives on Financial Accounting' and 'Corporate Governance.' Her publications encompass diverse topics, such as audit quality, employee representation, and environmental liabilities in financial disclosures.
