Biography

Niveditha Karuppiah is a clinical anesthesiologist currently practicing at London Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph’s Hospital in London. Her subspecialty interests include pediatric anesthesia and pain management, as well as regional anesthesia. Karuppiah graduated with a medical degree from JJM Medical College and completed her postgraduate training in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at KS Hegde Medical Academy in India. In Canada, she worked as an anesthesiologist at a multi-specialty tertiary care hospital and a mother-child hospital before completing fellowships at Western University and Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Currently, she serves as a consultant anesthesiologist and assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesia, where she plays an active role in clinical education for residents, medical students, and anesthesia assistant students. Karuppiah is also committed to developing perioperative pediatric pain services at her hospital and has successfully obtained grants for various projects. Outside of anesthesiology, she is passionate about health economics and is a strong supporter of women in medicine.
