Biography

Dr. Niyatee Samudra is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is a board-certified neurologist with a fellowship in epilepsy and behavioral neurology. Dr. Samudra leads a clinic focusing on the treatment of older adults with epilepsy and has clinical interests that include the treatment of atypical Parkinsonism and women’s brain health across the lifespan. She co-leads the CurePSP Center of Care and is actively involved in the Menopause Collaborative of Practice at Stanford. Her research interests encompass clinical trials in neurodegenerative diseases, improving treatment modalities for older adults with epilepsy, and understanding the cognitive and neuropsychiatric consequences of epilepsy, as well as the treatment of neuropsychiatric symptoms in neurodegenerative disorders. Prior to her tenure at Stanford, she completed fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Samudra obtained her undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
