Biography

Njal Rollinson is an Associate Professor and Graduate Associate Director in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Toronto. His research primarily focuses on evolutionary ecology and conservation, particularly in the context of long-term monitoring of ecological systems. He employs metadata to test ecological theories and to understand adaptive processes within ecosystems, aiming to inform conservation decisions. His work spans various organisms, including reptiles, amphibians, and cold-water fish, especially in relation to their near northern range limits. Njal is committed to elevating our understanding of biodiversity and forest conservation through rigorous scientific inquiry and long-term ecological data analysis.
