I am a research associate in the Department of Education and Socialization at the Institute of Educational Science and am pursuing my doctorate under JProf. Meike Bonefeld. In the course of my doctoral research, I am investigating bias awareness among teacher training students and teachers. Bias awareness refers to the extent to which individuals are conscious of the expression and consequences of their implicit biases and are concerned about them (Perry, Murphy & Dividio, 2015). I am particularly interested in whether higher bias awareness among (prospective) teachers leads to a greater acceptance of feedback regarding their own implicit biases. Additionally, I explore how increased bias awareness impacts the judgment formation of (prospective) teachers. In teaching, I offer courses on dealing with diversity in various educational contexts.
The program focuses on Educational Science – Teaching and Learning (Lehren und Lernen).
