Biography

Noah M. Pickus is a Professor of Practice at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, where he has been a faculty member for 25 years. He serves as the Associate Provost and Dean of Academic Strategy and Learning Innovation at Duke Kunshan University. Pickus has extensive experience in academic strategy, global initiatives, and educational innovation. He previously led curriculum design and faculty hiring at Duke and was the Chief Academic Officer at the Minerva Project. He has also served as the Founding Director of the Institute for Emerging Issues at North Carolina State University. Pickus co-directed the Arizona State University-Georgetown University Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership and the Brookings-Duke Immigration Roundtable. His research interests focus on immigration, citizenship, and innovation in higher education. He has authored several books, including 'New Global Universities: Reinventing Education for the 21st Century', and published numerous articles on immigration and educational policy. He obtained his Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton University and his B.A. from Wesleyan University.
