Biography

Noël J-M Raynal, M.Sc., Ph.D. is a professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the Université de Montréal and at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center since 2013. He earned his Doctorate in Biology from INRS-IAF in 2008. His research combines an epigenetic drug inhibiting DNA methylation and a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, demonstrating a synergistic anticancer effect. During his postdoctoral stage at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas and Fels Institute, his work focused on epigenetic drugs targeting chromatin. He has played a significant role in discovering new epigenetic drugs and targets for cancer chemotherapy. His expertise lies in cancer epigenetic pharmacology and drug discovery using molecule screening systems. His lab develops new three-dimensional cell culture models to better replicate cancers in the laboratory, concentrating on pediatric cancers such as leukemia and neuroblastoma as well as adult cancers like lung and triple-negative breast cancer.
