Biography

Noni Symeonidou is an Associate Professor in the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Group at Warwick Business School. Her research focuses on early-stage entrepreneurship, strategic entrepreneurship, and innovation, with particular interest in investor decision-making and the micro-foundations of entrepreneurship. Her work seeks to address critical questions about how firms organize resources for innovation and how investors select innovations. Noni employs both archival data and experiments to explore these questions within contexts of high-growth entrepreneurship and top management teams. She earned her PhD from Imperial College London, where she was supported by a fully funded scholarship through the Innovation Studies Centre, and has published in prestigious management journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing and the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. In addition to her academic achievements, Noni has received multiple awards, including the WBS Outstanding Contribution Research Award for the academic years 2016/17 and 2018/19. Noni has also co-founded a Community Interest Company that focuses on the innovative processes related to technology startups, including the invention of a blood test to screen for cancer in dogs and cats. She is enthusiastic about supervising PhD students in the field of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
