Biography

Nora Stappert joined MOBILE as an Associate Professor in February 2023. Previously, she was a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Global Cooperation Research, University of Duisburg-Essen, and a Lecturer in International Relations at the School of Politics and International Studies, University of Leeds. She has conducted postdoctoral research at the School of Global Studies at Gothenburg University, focusing on legitimacy in global governance and collaborating with universities in Stockholm, Lund, and Gothenburg. Stappert holds a Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations from the University of Oxford, a Master of Studies in Law from Yale Law School, and a Master of Philosophy in International Relations from the University of Oxford. Her primary research fields include practice theory, legal change, and the contestation of legitimacy in international institutions, as well as the interpretation of international law. She teaches international law, International Relations theory, and research methods.
