Biography

Norbert Corver is a Professor of Dutch Linguistics at Utrecht University and the Director General of the Research Institute. He obtained his PhD in 1990 from Tilburg University and served as an assistant professor before becoming a professor at Utrecht University in 2001. Since 2019, he has also held the position of Visiting Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Connecticut. Corver is currently the principal investigator for a project titled 'Mind Manner Adverbials!' (MiMA), which is funded by the NWO Open Competition grant, and is expected to run until the end of 2025. He is a member of the Academia Europaea, acknowledging his significant contributions to the field of linguistics. Corver's research focuses on various aspects of linguistics, particularly the syntax and semantics of the Dutch language.
