Dr. Nour Dados

Biography

Nour Dados awarded a PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of Technology Sydney in 2011. Prior to joining the Centre for Workforce Futures, he worked as a researcher at the University of Sydney and University of Technology Sydney, as well as in the union sector. His research examines how institutional cultural contexts and social-economic changes shape agency and experiences of precarity. He is currently working on a project analyzing the impact of employment insecurity on knowledge production among knowledge workers and is developing a series of studies about social life in the nineteenth-century Ottoman Empire using resources from postcolonial sociology. His work crosses critical social science and social history, employing archival, textual, and empirical methods. Nour is a member of the Australian Sociological Association (TASA).
