Biography

Dr. Ruzgar obtained her BSc in Mathematics from Marmara University, her MSc in Mathematics from Istanbul Technical University, and her PhD in Quantitative Methods from Istanbul University. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Business Quantitative Methods by the Higher Education Council of Turkey in 2006. Her scholarly expertise encompasses mathematical modeling, simulation, data mining, and data analytics in business educational contexts. Dr. Ruzgar completed a one-year research appointment in Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Cornell University in New York, USA. She has industry experience, including six years at Eroglu Manufacturing and Aktac Sport Manufacturing, focusing on production performance enhancement through simulation-based analyses. Dr. Ruzgar has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has delivered numerous presentations at national and international academic conferences. She co-authored a widely adopted Quantitative Methods textbook in universities across Turkey. She has developed, taught, and coordinated a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics and statistics at Marmara University. Since joining Toronto Metropolitan University in 2010, she has continued to teach and coordinate these courses for various programs. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Decision Science Institute and the Operations Research Society.
