Biography

Nutifafa Yao Doumon is an interdisciplinary scientist with a background in physics and nanoscience, who is currently focused on advancing solar technologies. His research primarily revolves around optoelectronic photovoltaic devices, specifically conducting stability testing and chemical characterization of active layers, along with indoor and outdoor testing of organic and perovskite photovoltaic modules. He also characterizes degradation failure modes and mechanisms of these solar cells. Before his appointment at Penn State University, he worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, USA, the INRS in Varennes, Canada, and the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. His research output generally is geared toward organic electronics, with particular emphasis on organic light-emitting diodes and organic photovoltaics (OPVs). His works have spanned degradation mechanisms and stability studies of both fullerene and non-fullerene-based OPVs, exploring improvements via bulk heterojunction binary and ternary blends in solar cells.
