Biography

Oana Tatucu is a Research Fellow and Dietitian at Monash University, with expertise in critical care nutrition and gastrointestinal function management for critically ill patients. She has worked with the ANZIC-RC, co-leading the 'Metabolism' stream research within the Nutrition Program. Tatucu's research includes studies on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) energy and the MEASURE DIRECT research studies. She has received $1.5 million in grant funding and authored 30 publications throughout her career. In 2022, she was selected as one of the 20 clinical nutrition researchers globally to participate in the Fresenius Kabi JUMPstart Program, an advanced research training program in clinical nutrition. Tatucu has received various prestigious research awards and is committed to contributing toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Her research interests focus on critical care nutrition, indirect calorimetry, and intestinal permeability, collaborating with top research areas over the past five years. She is actively involved in supervising Honours, Masters, and PhD students.
