Octavio Kano joined the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin in Fall 2019 as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations. With over 20 years of experience in the creative industry, he has an international background and formal education in visual arts. Over his career in visual communication, Kano has developed and implemented responsive interactive multimedia designs for advertising campaigns that include print media, art direction, photography, and 3D motion graphics. His work has benefitted numerous non-profit and for-profit organizations, including Boston Children's Hospital, the Consumer Electronics Association, and Plato Learning Inc. Kano continues to teach courses in creativity, 360 video production, and immersive technology storytelling.
