Biography

Oded Regev is a Silver Professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. Before joining NYU, he was affiliated with Tel Aviv University, École Normale Supérieure in Paris, and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from Tel Aviv University in 2001 and has made significant contributions in the fields of theoretical computer science, cryptography, and quantum computation. His research is heavily focused on machine learning applications in biological discovery. He is a recipient of the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant (2008), the Gödel Prize (2018), and the Simons Investigator Award (2019). Additionally, he has received paper awards at conferences such as STOC 2003 and Eurocrypt 2006. His current research involves using machine learning to understand RNA processing and other biological processes. Regev is also involved in the organization of online seminar series in theoretical computer science and serves as an Associate Editor-in-Chief for the Theory of Computing journal.
