Dr. Odette Bernazzani

Biography

Odette Bernazzani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addictology at the University of Montreal. Her research expertise focuses on intergenerational transmission of emotional disorders, including early detection of at-risk families and the development of targeted preventive interventions. She is particularly interested in the psychological aspects of issues such as sexual abuse, anxiety, identity building, delinquency, and various life cycles from childhood through to adulthood. Her work also delves into the cognitive and emotional development of individuals as well as the social and cultural psychiatry that impacts mental health and societal issues. Bernazzani has contributed significantly to understanding how stress, addiction, and mood disorders influence behavior and relationships, with a strong focus on integrating social aspects of mental health treatment and intervention.
