Dr. Oktay Türetken

Biography

Oktay Turetken is a Full Professor in Information Systems at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and the Chair of the Industrial Engineering Bachelor Program. He is a member of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) based in Münster, Germany, and has been a visiting researcher at Queensland University of Technology. Turetken serves as an acting Associate Editor for the journal BISE - Business & Information Systems Engineering. His research primarily focuses on developing engineering and sustainable digital solutions, particularly in collaborative business models that enable multi-stakeholder value co-creation. He designs methods, tools, and models for performance management, implementation, and evaluation within businesses. Turetken emphasizes creating a traceable alignment between business and operating models to ensure their resilience over time. His work aims to help organizations realize the economic, environmental, and societal benefits of technology. His research includes capability maturity models that support organizations in enhancing their maturity in areas such as advanced data analytics and business process management. With an academic background that includes a PhD in Information Systems, Turetken has contributed significantly to EU-funded projects in service science and business process management throughout his career. He has also served as a consultant and an adjunct lecturer at METU's Software Management master’s program. Additionally, Turetken co-founded MobilitEU, focused on advancing open Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platforms in Europe, and is a member of the MaaS Alliance's Business Models Governance Working Group.
