Dr. Ola El Taliawi

Biography

Dr. Ola G. El-Taliawi is an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente's Department of Public Administration and Policy Science. He holds a Ph.D. from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and has extensive experience in research and teaching, particularly in the fields of governance and migration policy. His doctoral research focused on the comparative governance of refugee displacement crises, which earned him a nomination for the Wang Gungwu Medal Prize. His professional work has included postdoctoral fellowship work at Carleton University and significant contributions to policy research and practice over the past 15 years. Dr. El-Taliawi's publications include both peer-reviewed articles and book chapters addressing the roles of technology, gender diversity, and public policy in crisis governance. He has actively participated in international conferences and has collaborated on several research projects aimed at exploring the intersection of governance and societal challenges such as migration and public policy. His aspiration is to enhance policy frameworks to support underrepresented and marginalized populations, ensuring equity and inclusivity in governance practices during technological and societal transformations.
