Biography

Dr. Olan Scott is an Associate Professor of Sport Management at Brock University. His main research focuses on how media communications shape, reproduce, and reflect issues of national identity, gender, and race in the context of globally significant sporting events. He has published extensively in prominent sport management and sport communication journals, including the Sport Management Review, Communication & Sport, and the International Review for the Sociology of Sport. Additionally, he serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Sport Communication, the Journal of Global Sport Management, and Frontiers in Sports Active Living (Sports Management Marketing section). Dr. Scott's research interests also encompass Sport Media, Olympic Studies, Media Analyses, and Fan Engagement. He is affiliated with the Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand and the International Association for Communication in Sport (IACS).
