Biography

Olanrewaju Ojo graduated with a Class Honours BSc degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria in 1997. He obtained his MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Manitoba in 2002 and 2005, respectively, receiving the University of Manitoba Distinguished PhD Dissertation Award for his groundbreaking contributions. In 2005, he was awarded the NSERC post-doctoral research fellowship, working at the University of Manitoba and École Polytechnique in Montreal. He started as an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba in January 2006 and was promoted to Associate Professor and then Full Professor in 2009 and 2013, respectively. Dr. Ojo is an internationally recognized expert in the processing of advanced aerospace materials, with over 200 publications in international journals and conference papers, and his work has been cited more than 4500 times according to Google Scholar. He has received numerous awards, including the 2013 Rh Award and the 2014 Excellence in Engineering Teaching award. Dr. Ojo has supervised over 80 graduate students and research fellows, aiding their development in academia and industry. His research focuses on innovative manufacturing techniques and an understanding of advanced aerospace materials.
