Biography

Olatundun Gafari is a Public Health Nutritionist trained at the University of Southampton and an associate registered nutritionist with the Association Nutrition, UK. She is actively involved in developing, implementing, and evaluating public health programmes aimed at improving nutrition and physical activity for good health among members of the public in Africa and the UK. Currently, she serves as a lecturer in public health at the University of Southampton and as the EDI Research fellow for the Southampton Biomedical Research Centre. Olatundun has previously worked as a research fellow on the nationwide Co-POWeR project. She is skilled and experienced in conducting mixed methods research, public community engagement, and statistical analysis using various statistical platforms. Olatundun has also worked as a programme coordinator for a health and well-being community engagement hub where she developed and coordinated projects aimed at improving nutrition and health while narrowing the digital divide in households in Southampton. She was nominated for the Vice-Chancellor Award in 2021. Her research interests include maternal and child health nutrition and exploring associations with long-term public health conditions, particularly in underserved groups and communities.
