Dr. Ole Kristian Hope

Biography

Ole-Kristian Hope is a Professor of Accounting at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, holding the Deloitte & Touche Professorship. He teaches courses in commerce, MBA, and PhD programs, with a broad focus on financial disclosure, financial reporting quality, corporate governance, and other related topics. His research has been published in leading journals such as Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, and Journal of Accounting and Economics, among others. Hope has served as the editor for the Journal of International Business Studies, with a focus on issues related to accounting, governance, and sustainability. He has received multiple awards for his contributions to accounting thought and education, including the Haim Falk Award and the Outstanding International Educator Award from the American Accounting Association. He also supervises PhD students and is the founder of the annual Scandinavian Accounting Research Conference Doctoral Consortium. His research findings have been widely cited in prominent media outlets, and he regularly presents at workshops and conferences across the globe.
