Biography

Olena Ivanova joined the SPHERE Centre of Research Excellence in Women's Sexual Reproductive Health at Monash University in April 2025 as a Senior Research Fellow. She is a mixed-methods researcher with expertise in situation analysis, co-creation, implementation, and evaluation of international health program studies. Her research focuses on understanding and addressing sexual reproductive health (SRH) needs of populations facing barriers to services, particularly young women, girls, migrants, and refugees, through context-tailored solutions. Olena's expertise covers a wide range of topics, including comprehensive sexuality education, adolescent pregnancies, and technologies in women's health. She is passionate about empowering women and girls and advancing SRH rights through interdisciplinary research and innovative approaches aimed at health systems strengthening and capacity building, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Her academic qualifications include a PhD in Health Sciences from Ghent University.
