Dr. Olga Bountali

Biography

Olga Bountali is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga and a member of the Rotman School of Management. Her research interests primarily lie in operations management, focusing on stochastic modeling and complex decision-making within competitive environments. She has specific expertise in applying economic analysis to quantify the behaviors of self-interested customers and their impacts on service operations, revenues, and health care delivery. Bountali actively collaborates with professionals from various disciplines, including engineering and business, and has worked with physicians and practitioners at Parkland Memorial Hospital and UT Southwestern in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Before her position at the University of Toronto, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Southern Methodist University in the Operations Research Engineering Management Department and at Koç University in the Industrial Engineering Department. Bountali earned her PhD in Operations Research from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Athens, where her research included significant contributions to game theory, an essential framework for understanding strategic interactions in business scenarios, negotiations, auctions, and pricing strategies.
