Biography

Olga Klein is an Associate Professor at Warwick Business School, specializing in finance. She is a research fellow at the Gillmore Center for Financial Technology and is actively engaged in research focusing on market microstructure, algorithmic high-frequency trading, and decentralized finance (DeFi). Her work examines the impacts of technology on liquidity, efficiency, and security prices, particularly through the lens of traditional and decentralized exchanges. Recently, she worked on a joint project with ChainSolid Labs to investigate blockchain scaling solutions aimed at enhancing liquidity on the largest decentralized exchange, Uniswap. Olga has advised the Financial Conduct Authority on future digital finance in the UK and is a member of the programme committee for the European Finance Association. She has co-organized the annual WBS Gillmore Centre Conference on DeFi and Digital Currencies. In terms of education, she holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Mannheim and has received an MSc in Finance and Economics from the University of Magdeburg, along with a BSc in Economic Theory from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine. Olga has developed and taught several courses at the undergraduate, master's, and PhD levels in subjects such as market microstructure, advanced trading strategies, corporate finance, and investment management.
