Olga Minaeva is an Assistant Professor at Boston University in the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Radiology. She received her B.Sc. (2004), M.Sc. (2006), and Ph.D. (2009) in Physics from Moscow State Pedagogical University. Her research primarily focuses on the development and characterization of novel Superconducting Single-Photon Counting Detectors based on NbN nanofilms. Throughout her doctoral program, she expanded her research interests to include applications of single-photon detectors in biophotonics, specifically in Quantum Optical Coherence Tomography, Optical Coherence Tomography, and Correlation Spectroscopy. After her doctoral studies, she joined Dr. Lee Goldstein’s group as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Currently, her work is dedicated to developing and characterizing Quasi-Elastic Light Scattering (QLS) scattering confocal fluorescent correlation spectroscopy instruments aimed at creating early non-invasive diagnostics for Alzheimer's Disease and assessing radiation exposure. Prof. Minaeva's research contributions have been recognized through various grants at Boston Medical Center and her work is frequently published in leading journals, contributing significantly to the fields of biophotonics and medical imaging.
