Biography

Prof. Alexy is a management researcher focusing on how organizations can effectively deal with uncertainty. He examines how firms successfully develop new technologies and deploy them in the market. He investigates the role of new forms of organizing, particularly crowds, and their impact on future innovation ecosystems. Prof. Alexy utilizes diverse methods in close collaboration with start-ups and incumbents around the globe. His work has earned numerous accolades in both academia and practice. He holds a degree in information systems from the University of Regensburg (2005) and completed his doctorate in management at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2008. Following this, he continued his career as a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London and served as a temporary lecturer in 2011. He has been a guest researcher at Harvard Business School, MIT, and Politecnico di Milano. In 2012, he joined TUM as an inaugural assistant professor of Strategic Entrepreneurship and was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2017.
