Biography

Oliver works to bring exceptional experiences to University of Washington students through his role as director of UW's Manastash Ridge Observatory. He develops active-learning curricula for lecture-based asynchronous-online Astro 101 courses, trains students in observational techniques for Astro 481, and teaches a science communication course entitled Storytelling in the Sciences as part of UW's Interdisciplinary Honors Program. Additionally, he supports astronomy education through the university's planetarium programs and the UW High School program, and he is involved with the Astronomy Education Clearinghouse.
