Biography

Oliver Hammond is an Instrument Data Scientist at the European Spallation Source ERIC (ESS), based at the Data Management & Software Centre (DMSC), where he is responsible for coordinating comprehensive data analysis pipelines for LoKI and SKADI, as well as future small angle scattering (SANS) instrumentation. His significant research activities focus on ionic liquids and eutectic solvents. Oliver holds an Adjunct Professor position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where he is involved in neutron scattering studies of soft materials and is a core member of the LINXS initiative, leading the Young Researchers’ Initiative in Soft Matter. He integrates closely with teams at KTH’s Department of Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Health Engineering Design and has long-term international collaborations with researchers from the University of New South Wales and ANSTO in Australia, as well as the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands. Throughout his career, Oliver has worked closely with the Disordered Materials group at ISIS and has been involved in Denmark’s ESS lighthouse programs and the new KTH RELAX initiative.
