Dr. Olivia Guerra Santin

Biography

Olivia Guerra-Santin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of the Built Environment at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Her research focuses on designing and evaluating energy-efficient and healthy environments. Guerra-Santin utilizes user-centered and data-driven research methods, building monitoring, and performance evaluation, employing Living Labs for socio-technical research. Her areas of interest encompass building management control, occupant behavior, and building performance. She has participated in numerous research projects monitoring building performance across the Netherlands, UK, and Spain. Guerra-Santin is keen on developing design and evaluation approaches that leverage building monitoring data in an efficient and ethical manner. Currently, she investigates how emerging technologies and data-driven methods can support efficient building management and foster behavioral change that enhances energy performance in buildings, alongside educating occupants about their energy practices at home.
