Dr. Olivia Krauze

Biography

Olivia Krauze is an Assistant Professor and Director of Studies in English at Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge. She moved to Cambridge in 2020 after completing her PhD at Trinity College. Her research broadly focuses on the intersection of literature and science during the long nineteenth century. Her specific research interests include the history of emotions, affect theory, medical humanities, sexuality, queer studies, and the novel tradition in England and Russia. She also teaches several papers in the English Tripos, including Practical Criticism, and papers covering the period from 1660 to the present day. In her academic role, she supervises dissertations on a wide range of topics related to the nineteenth century.
