Biography

Olivier Bégin-Caouette is an Associate Professor in Comparative Higher Education at the Department of Administration and Foundations of Education at the Université de Montréal. He holds the Canada Research Chair in Comparative and International Higher Education. His research focuses on the interactions between higher education structures and their political, economic, social, and cultural contexts, as well as the production of university research and transformations in technical and vocational education institutions. Bégin-Caouette is a co-founder and currently director of the Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on Higher Education (LIRES) and an associate member of the Interuniversity Research Centre on Science and Technology (CIRST). He has been involved in numerous national and international research projects. Bégin-Caouette has a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at CIRST at the Université du Québec à Montréal. He has also served as a consultant for various educational institutions, focusing on university pedagogy and international strategies.
