Dr. Olivier Court

Biography

Dr. Olivier Court obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from McGill University in 1995. He completed his General Surgery residency in Manitoba and received certification in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2001. Dr. Court completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine in Manitoba, earning RCPSC certification in 2003. He furthered his training in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery in Washington, DC. With extensive experience in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery, he specializes in techniques such as Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Biliopancreatic Diversion, and Duodenal Switch, along with revisional bariatric surgery. Dr. Court was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at McGill University and has been an Attending Surgeon at the Royal Victoria Hospital (McGill University Health Center) since 2005. In addition, he previously served as the Director of Undergraduate Surgical Education at McGill University. Dr. Court is also an Intensivist at MUHC, where he is responsible for the Intensive Care Unit for 16 weeks each year. He has previously held the position of site Director of the Royal Victoria Hospital Critical Care Fellowship program and was the head of the 'Blue Surgery' clinical teaching unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital site of MUHC.
