Biography

Olivier Court obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from McGill University in 1995 and completed his General Surgery residency in Manitoba. He received certification in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2001 and completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine in Manitoba, with RCPSC certification in 2003. Dr. Court then underwent fellowship training in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery in Washington, DC. He has developed extensive experience in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery, including Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Biliopancreatic Diversion, and Duodenal Switch, as well as revisional bariatric surgery. Dr. Court was appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery at McGill University and became an Attending Surgeon at the Royal Victoria Hospital, part of the McGill University Health Center, in 2005. He was previously the Director of Undergraduate Surgical Education at McGill University and works as an Intensivist at MUHC, overseeing the Intensive Care Unit for 16 weeks each year. He also served as the site Director for the Royal Victoria Hospital Critical Care Fellowship program and heads the 'Blue Surgery' clinical teaching unit at Royal Victoria Hospital.
