Biography

Olivier Curty completed his studies in Greek, Latin, and Ancient History at the University of Fribourg, graduating in 1987. He obtained a doctorate in epigraphy focusing on the legendary parentages between city-states. After studying under Philippe Gauthier, he published a book in 2015 with the French editions De Boccard about gymnasiums in the Hellenistic period (4th - 1st century BC). He currently serves as an associate professor for Ancient History at the University of Fribourg. Following a severe brain operation, he has been using a wheelchair and suffers from dysarthria, a speech disorder.
