Olivier Nyirubugara started his teaching career in 2012 after completing his PhD in Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Prior to his academic career, Nyirubugara worked as a journalist for various international media outlets in Africa and Europe, including the UN News Information Agency (IRIN) and Radio France International, and coordinated a citizen journalism project aimed at empowering grassroots reporters across Africa. He has trained and coached over 100 citizen journalists across 8 African countries.
