Biography

Olu Jenzen is a Professor of Media and Digital Culture and the Deputy Head of Research at the Winchester School of Art. His research focuses on social justice within digital cultures and media technologies, utilizing participatory creative methods. Jenzen is recognized for his expertise in digital culture, visual activism, and LGBTQ+ digital youth cultures, and is a member of the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council Peer Review College. He is also an editorial board member for various academic journals, including the Journal of Visual Political Communication and the Journal of Cultural Analysis and Social Change. Throughout his academic career, Jenzen has held visiting research fellowships at the Department of Communication and Media at the University of Lund, Sweden, and at the Centre of Social Movement Studies at Scuola Normale Superiore, Florence, Italy. He actively participates in national and international research projects, currently leading an AHRC-funded project aimed at fostering community belonging, enhancing liveability, and supporting the wellbeing of young people.
