Dr. Oluseyi Oladele

Biography

Oluseyi Oladele is a family physician specializing in addiction medicine, with a focus on care delivered through virtual platforms. His work is centered on the belief that effective care improves patients' feelings of being seen and supported, as well as their ability to access services reliably. He assists patients in Alberta in accessing opioid agonist therapy and related services, demonstrating a commitment to clinical excellence, dignity, and equitable healthcare outcomes. Additionally, Oluseyi teaches and mentors medical learners in clinical academic settings, particularly within the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta. His involvement as a Councillor with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta has allowed him to contribute to regulatory policy, physician development, and health system governance. His broader professional interests include health systems improvement, the design of virtual care, and the ethical implications of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Working with Alberta's virtual addiction primary care programs has provided him with insights into how digital tools can enhance patient reach and trust, ultimately shaping their experiences. He remains committed to exploring the promises and limitations of AI in health, actively completing formal coursework in AI applications in medicine. Outside of his clinical academic responsibilities, Oluseyi enjoys spending time with his wife and children, engaging in rich conversations, and embarking on unexpected adventures.
