Professor Bukola Salami received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Windsor in 2004, followed by a Master of Nursing and a PhD in Nursing, both from the University of Toronto in 2008 and 2014, respectively. As of July 2023, she holds the position of Full Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Cumming School of Medicine. Furthermore, she founded the African Child Youth Migration Network and the Black Youth Mentorship Leadership Program, aiming to empower Black youth in Canada. Salami has received multiple awards for her research excellence and community engagement, including the Sigma Theta Tau International Emerging Nurse Researcher Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal.
