Biography

Oluwakemi Onajin Darkwa, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago. She is a fellowship-trained dermatologist and specializes in complex medical dermatology and rheumatologic skin disorders. Dr. Onajin obtained her medical degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and completed her dermatology residency at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, followed by a dermatopathology fellowship at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Her clinical research focuses on cutaneous diseases and their systemic manifestations, including cutaneous lupus erythematosus and dermatomyositis. She is actively involved in clinical trials addressing dermatomyositis, cutaneous lupus erythematosus, and cutaneous sarcoidosis, and currently serves as the Director of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Program at the University of Chicago. Additionally, Dr. Onajin is dedicated to medical education and mentorship, serving as the Associate Program Director for the dermatopathology fellowship at her institution.
