Dr. Omar Hakim

Biography

Omar Hakim serves as a full professor at Texas A&M University, where he teaches courses on entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, and the development of Aggie entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers. He is a co-founder and past executive director of the Aggie Angel Network, which consists of accredited business angel investors. As a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), Hakim is licensed in Texas and specializes in industrial and systems engineering, as well as software engineering. His recent professional experiences include serving as VP of Client Strategy at a law firm and holding senior executive roles at Accenture where he was involved in angel investing, co-founding startups, and managing a successful startup incubator. Hakim is an inventor with 100 issued and pending international patents across fields such as material science, financial business methods (FinTech), the Internet of Things (IoT), and machine learning algorithms. His career at Accenture included responsibilities as Asia Regional Director of Network Consulting and advising clients in various sectors, including the United States Air Force and NASA.
