Professor Dr. Omar Hussain

Biography

Professor Omar Hussain is a distinguished academic in the School of Business at UNSW Canberra. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from JNTU (2002), a Master of Research in Computer Science from La Trobe University (2004), and a Doctorate in Philosophy focusing on Information Management from Curtin University (2008). Previously, he served as an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer, demonstrating a progressive academic career. His research interests are centered on Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Distributed Grid Systems, Decision Support, and Group Support Systems. Professor Hussain has published extensively in reputable international journals, including Future Generations Computer Systems and Expert Systems Applications, showcasing his contributions to the field. He has been recognized with several awards, including the early Career Researcher Prize and the Chancellor's Thesis Commendation Award. As a committed mentor, he has supervised numerous PhD candidates and actively contributed to significant research projects, such as those funded by the Australian Research Council.
