Biography

Professor Omar Matar is a leading expert in Fluid Mechanics and serves as the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. He is currently the RAEng/PETRONAS Research Chair focused on Multiphase Fluid Dynamics. His research interests span several cutting-edge areas including Interfacial Fluid Mechanics, Multiphase Flows and Heat Transfer, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and innovative applications of Machine Learning in engineering. He actively engages in multidisciplinary projects involving Energy, Manufacturing, Process Intensification, and Nanotechnology. Professor Matar holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and an MEng from Imperial College London.
